About Jamie McGovern MCSP SRP BSc (Hons)
Jamie is a Chartered Physiotherapist (CSP) and a member of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and has undertaken training in Sports Taping.
Jamie has worked for the NHS since graduation working in a number of roles including Community, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Outpatients amongst others. He is currently working full time as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in the NHS. Alongside this Jamie has worked in a sporting setting with Youth Football Academies. Throughout his time at University he also undertook roles as Pitchside First Aid with Rugby Teams and regularly for Huntly FC in the Highland League.
Prior to Physiotherapy Jamie studied Anatomical Sciences at Dundee University and was first introduced to Physiotherapy as a patient when suffering from illness. Through his own experiences as a patient and as a clinician he believes in developing an environment to encourage patients to achieve their goals and ensures that the patient remains at the centre of the treatment plan.
With Jamie’s experience working with acute sporting injuries along with the ongoing rehabilitation of patients throughout their treatment journeys, he is able and keen to adapt any treatment plan to each individual and help everyone achieve their goals moving forward.
